You are invited to be a traveler on The Journey, a First Church retreat for men (or any who identify as masculine) at Camp McDowell (105 Delong Road, Nauvoo, AL 35578) on April 25-27, 2025. Gather with friends, some you haven’t even met yet, as we study Jesus’ celebrations of joy! Often we picture Jesus as serious and somber, but in the Gospels we find that Jesus knew how to party. He loved weddings, dinner parties, and festivals. We find him singing, eating, and enjoying his friends. We also find Jesus at times broken-hearted, teaching for extended periods of time, or in deep concentration in prayer, but almost as equally he is seen celebrating life!
Check-in opens on Friday, April 25, at 5:30pm and dinner is from 6:30-7:30pm. The Journey will end on Sunday morning at 11am. Accommodations at beautiful, wooded Camp McDowell have 2 queen beds and a private bath in each room. Dress will be extremely casual and everything you need to participate in The Journey will be provided. Just bring a Bible, a willingness to make new friends, a desire to celebrate the life of Jesus, and enjoy The Journey!
